Google and Blogger going mobile on Sony!
Sony Ericsson announced that it will be working with Google to add a Google search capability and Blogger to its upcoming phones in the 2nd quarter (K610 UMTS phone and the newly launched K800 and K790). This features will allow you to search using Google with a single keystroke without opening a new Web page. Users will be able to post to Blogger from their phones. It's so sad Sprint does not have any Sony Ericsson phone that I know of cos I love this idea. Though, I got to admit, I have never really cared about the type of phone I have. But I think that's becos I have been with a company that has the wackest phones ever - Sprint PCS. I hope they get with programs such as this (Sony/Google's) and expand their phone offerings.

Microsoft, stop fooling us!
Microsoft newest operating system (OS) will be coming out soon - 2nd half of 2K6. It's called Windows Vista, so no more Windows 2000, XP, etc. I know; that won't happen immediately. These behemoth of a company just wants to make money every possible way. Why in heaven's sake would you have 6 different versions of the same OS? Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Vista Ultimate, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows Vista Business and Windows Vista Enterprise. I mean, it's all the same thing pretty much with some features turned off or on for specific versions. As usual they have promised improved security. pls? That's by the side, but they just want to make all the money they can make from ignorant consumers.

Hmmph, I guess I would do the same if I was the owner of the company too. Milk those bastard consumers and corporations!!! ;) I just wish a viable and powerful OS competitor can finally show these guys at MS.

Hostile Work Environment!
I went to lunch today with coworkers as usual. One of us was complaining about how he has been asked to move to another office where he has to have an office mate unlike now. Then we were cracking jokes about how he needs to suck it up. Next thing he was like he will go to Taco Bell and get some nice Buritto with beans and all that crap. That way, he can gas his office mate out of the office to stay in the lab in order to have his office to himself. "That's definitely you creating a hostile work environment", one of us said. We all burst into laughter. lol! I thought that was hilarious. Gas him out! lmao! However, later, I thought to myself, "Hmmph! That's dead funny but for real that's truly creating a hostile work environment for real." lol!

Many times, when we hear hostile work environment, we think of an environment where there is so-called sexual harassment going on; we think of an environment where coworkers are not too welcoming to new employees or even existing employees; we think of an environment where there is a lot of tension. But hey, for real, a hostile environment could be that simple – gassing your office mate out of the office, (lol!) using too much colognes or perfumes to the point of choking your colleagues, listening to music using headset while working but constantly humming the songs out loudly, etc. Hostile work environment does not have to entail extreme situations, I guess.

The Beloved has its flaws too.

Apple's OS (and its Safari browser) has always been touted for its security superiority by Apple cult members. It has always been praised as on OS whose security is impervious to hacks. Guess what? The Beloved has finally shown that it has its flaws. In recent weeks alone, 3 different security holes have been found in the Apple OS and its Safari browser.

Hmmph! Isn't that interesting? It's no shock to me whatsoever. The OS is a software and every software, no matter how well-designed or developed, will almost always (actually I will say always) have its vulnerability. Always! I think the reason why the holes are being found now is because Apple has been adopted by more people than ever in recent years. And the more the customers, the more hackers are inclined to crack the system.

So, Apple has never been invincible. It just never had the attention of hackers and writers of malicious software. I am glad Apple has never fallen into the trap of its numerous self-proclaimed evangelists by claiming the security of its OS (and its software) was more invincible than the rest especially the famous Windows which is well-known for its more like weekly release of security patches. The Beloved finally has its vulnerability.

That sh&* was defintely toxic!
DAMN!!! I just came out from the bathroom at work and there was someone in there doing the #2. I swear the smell of that was toxic. It reminded me of the Toxic Waste Dump in Rivers State in the 80's (or maybe 90s) in Nigeria. I swear that sh&* will kill a mice. I am not kidding. The smell was highly and unusually toxic. I felt like I was semlling a nerve gas in a 24 episode. I mean... I had to do pee in like 1/2 a sec with no breathing throughout, a millisecond hand-wash and ran out immediately. WTF? I mean.. lol! That guy needs to go see a doctor 4 real!!!!!

If I can do it, you can definitely do the same and much more!!!
Every year during the National Engineers' Week, my company normally organizes its employees to volunteer for a day with Middle/High school kids. Interested employees volunteer to go to a school of choice to talk to the kids about Engineering. I started volunteering last year for this specific event and after going last year, I promised myself that I will make it there every year. It's a lot of fun just working with the kids and listening to them ask questions et al. This year, I decided to choose a different school - a Magnet Middle School. The day was last Friday. That morning, I thought to myself, "I hope this school is a black school cos those white kids don't really need any motivation; They got it all." And thank God it was. It was an all-day affair (from 10 to 3). I actually got there at about 9.20 to get myself prepared. I quickly got prepared before 10am (something I had never done with any activity in a while - prepare before time) and at about 10.10, we headed out to our class. On our way, saw this lady. Damn!!! She was fiiiiiiine!!!! Damn! She looked like a perfect work of a potter. It was unbelievable! She seemed to have been a visitor too cos she had visitor's tag on her chest. That's by the side! :)

Got distracted by that for a second, but went on to do my thing. It was a lot of fun. My partner and I introduced ourselves in each of the 4 classes, of about 40 students each, that we had. Talked about our background - work, college attended, value of math in our career etc. Then we grouped them into groups for an activity, Puff Mobile, in which they had to make a car using paper, straws and lifesavers. It was interesting watching them do their thing. The whole thing took me back to when I was their age too. "Damn! These bills have no bills", I thought to myself. :) I'm so mad at that. Each class finished the project and we then entertained questions. How much do you earn? - each class asked this question. What kind of car do you drive? What do I need to get into college? Do I really need math? Was college stressful for you? Where are you from again? :) Dammit! My f%^&& accent. That shit always gives me out! lol! How much was your college? etc I loved everything about the event. And the students were unusually well-behaved unlike the ones from last year at the school I went to where one of them even stole one of my colleagues' Nextel cellphone (which they later found after about 45 mins). But this school was great. Smart students, they were very into the activity, they asked questions, etc. And these students could put you in trouble too. Some of the females were pretty much flirting with me. lol! I was like, these kids of nowadays! After the questions, we gave them general advice. And my partner said something to me that I will never forget, "This is one's last chance to get these kids cos once they get to high school, it becomes too late. That's where they seem to make up their minds about who and what they want to become. That's where they usually get into drugs, sex, alcohol etc OR make up their minds to have great career." I thought that was very true.

This type of volunteer work is something I have been doing for over 5 years now. I always look for every opportunity to work with middle/high school kids cos you never know; you might end up having a great impact on one of the kids. My belief is, "ALL IT TAKES IS ONE; DON'T TRY TO IMPACT TOO MANY. JUST ONE!" And this was proven true 3 yrs ago when I volunteered to work with some middle schools at my company (I do that every year too in July for one week). While we were on a tour of North Carolina Central University, I walked with one of the kids and talked to him about what he wanted to do in college, how he was doing so far in his classes and what he needed to do to get to where he wanted to get to - Engineering at Morehouse. We just talked casually. At the end of the program on Friday, each student had to talk about what they did and learnt. When it was his turn, he got up and said he had a poem to recite dedicated to someone that had helped him a lot in the past one week and he called my name. I didn't even get the name cos he mispronounced my name. Then he pointed to me and I looked back to see if he was pointing to someone else behind me. And he was like, you. I pointed to myself asking, me? And he said, yes, you. He asked me to stand while he recited the poem. I was really moved, I got to admit. I was shocked! All I did was talk to him casually about school, college and partying. :) I know, partying, right Motivator talking about partying! lol! But hey, you got to keep it real with them. Since then, my belief that all it takes is one was much more reinforced in my mind and I have vowed to always volunteer any time I have opportunity to.

My advice to everyone is to do some volunteer work (at least yearly) to help kids. Especially foreigners in this country. We feel like we don't need to be doing that. It's not our country. Who cares? But that's not right. You are here anyway, so you might as well make a difference in the lives around you. They have a lot of community centers anywhere you live where you can volunteer to tutor or something like that. They look up to you. Believe me. It's always great for black kids to see blacks like them doing something apart from entertainment and sports. Please, stop a kid from ending up in jail or living a crazy life. Let them know that if you can do it, they can do the same and even much more. Always let them know that cos a lot of these kids do not have the opportunities many other people have or many of us had. Or in a lot of cases, they have the opportunities but they get sidetracked and put them to waste. That's the core of what I tell them all the time - if I can do it, you can DEFINITELY do it and even do much more.

When did we start holding a Middle Eastern company to a different standard?
Is that a joke? I know President Bush must have been kidding saying that statement. In recent days, there has been too much hoopla given to the contracting of the operations of 6 of the biggest American ports (New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Miami and one more that I forgot) to Dubai Ports World (a company owned by the United Arab Emirates). It has actually brought both parties "fully united" together against Bush for the first time. Personally, I think that is a very wrong move myself too. It just doesn't make sense. The most annoying part of the whole story is the President stating that he will veto any congress' move to block the deal. This guy has not vetoed anything since he came to office. All of a sudden, he wants to veto the blocking of an Arab country from getting such a highly sensitive contract. This just makes me wonder!!! Why would you say such a thing? I mean, especially when the White House didn't even know about the deal till it was over. That's the kind of deal you want to veto if blocked? Why is this deal so important to him? I mean... Why???

I have never been a fervent critic of this President (which I know is unusal for any black person), but this is it. You cannot give the operation of 6 major US imports to a company that is run by an Arab state. There are enough security issues to worry about in this country. Why add a possibly compromising factor to the existing security issues! For God's sake, Dubai Ports World is state-run company. It's not privately-ownede. The deal just cannot make sense to me, no matter how he tells me… oh….it has been thoroughly scrutinized. Scrutinized my a^&! All it will take is the cousin of one good Dubai Ports World employee to get a manifest of the containers and see which one will or will not be checked and wreak an havoc on the country by sending in deadly weapons into the country. What is this president thinking? I just don't get it!

2 of the September 11th terrorists were from Dubai. I know this might sound racist or whatever but sometimes that's just how it goes. I will hate anyone to stop me from getting a biz because of the fraudulent acts that Nigerians have been known for but the reality remains that anyone will be careful dealing with me in biz because I am a Nigerian and Nigerians (extremely few) have been well-known for being fraudsters. However, with this ports deal, it's a different case. Many terrorists' accounts and money transactions, in general, go through UAE. Dubai Ports World is state-run so it should not be given such a contract. The UAE govt still recognizes the Taliban as the govt in Afghanistan. I just don't think that extra security risk is needed for this country. There are many other companies that I am sure could do this. The country should not hold a Middle Eastern company to a different standard, but it should hold a state-run Middle Eastern company to a different standard. The UAE might have been an ally to the country in years but I don't think that is good enough. It just isn't. This President really needs to THINK CLEARLY. Even if it does make so-called econmic sense in the free trade world that we live in. It just doesn't make security sense or any sense whatsoever! National security should truly be foremost in this situation!

Suge Knight suing for extortion!
I read this article about the Suge Knight suing a former financer of his Death Row Label. He is accusing Michael Harris (a drug dealer according to the article) of fraud, conspiracy and racketeering as well as attempted extortion. Wow! Isn't that kind of ironic coming from Suge Knight? The infamous Suge Knight, like a comedian put it.

These people are f&*^%$# numskulls!
In Maiduguri, Borno State, Nigeria, 58 people were killed and 30 churches burnt as a result of protests over the cartoons that were published in Europe. WTF? What sense in God's sake does that make. These fanatics never cease to amaze me. I mean, a cartoon was published in Europe and you guys decide to protest the publications and you decide to kill Nigerians that have nothing to do with the cartoons? One of the victims, Mr Joseph Tukwa, watched helplessly as six of his children were burnt to ashes. For what? WTF is that? It just doesn't make any ounce of sense. These protesters must be nitwits. They have no sense of reasoning whatsoever. Why would I kill my fellow Nigerians and burn churches as a shew of protest over some cartoon that
1) was not published by a Nigerian
2) was not published by someone in association with the Christian community.

Mehn, these fanatics really are numskulls. They can't think at all. Why do they always have to resort to violence? Why??? There are better ways to protest such a "desecrating act." I just can't comprehend for a second why these retards would do that all the way in Nigeria for something that happenned in Denmark. There are many issues going on in the country that require protests and moreso, revolutions, which they are not carrying placards or killing people for. But they carry their sorry asses and protest an event that did not even happen in Nigeria (and would not make the country better in any way) and no set of people in the country to even direct the protest to.

I just wish someone could talk some sense into their clouded skulls!

An organization called, Minority & Women's Enterprise Development Foundation(MWED), is hosting a letter-signing contest for students; the winning team gets $5000.00, for their school. The students of the winning team determine how their school spends the money. This will be useful info for kids in high and middle school kids. Please, tell your nephews/nieces/cousins/kids. :)

Please pray for AyoKara and Oye! Please!
I heard one of the scariest stories yesterday, but I know it will come out for good by God's grace. Many of the folks in MD know Ayo, the unarguably friendly party guy in MD. He was involved in a very ghastly motor accident on Wednesday, with a friend of his, Oye, who many people also know. I am not sure if putting it here is right but I just hope few people will see this and pray for them. Obviously, I am not a prayerful person at all, but I hope some of the more prayerful folks read this. Please and please, pray for these guys to recover completely. May God Almighty make His healing power undeniably real in their lives as He brings them to a miraculous complete recovery.

Please, pray for them cos they REALLY NEED ALL the prayers they can get right now! Just one word of prayer can make a clear difference.

Don't even think about replying!
Damn! These "419" fraudsters are getting better at their game. I have always heard about it on Clark Howard show and through friends but I finally got this new type of fraudulent email this morning. They have a whole new dimension to their game. It's been around a little while and I am sure several people have received this mail before. However, they change their styles all the time. This one looks very legitimate including the site that it leads you to when you click the enclosed link but don't even think about going to the given link and entering your information. Their goal is for you to enter your info. It, then, sends it to them as soon as you click submit, which they can then use to go to your real Chase account. I have no idea how they even know you have an account with the bank, though it's usually sent to random people. Anyway, the fact is if your bank ever thinks you are having fraudulent activities, they won't inform you in this manner. So, don't fall for it by any chance.

Regrets!!!
Ok. I think it's time to squash the whole beef for sure especially when I just noticed from my log some specific people that I do not need knowing my business have found my blog at work (Guys sorry you will have to keep wondering and hopefully none of the guys that saw the inital thing has a copy :) Ta ba sunkun a ma riran) and it's high time I listen to everyone telling me to finally remove my blog since Lewa has decided not to put her blog back without leaving the uninvolved parties out.

I deeply and immeasurably regret what I did yesterday which I am sure everyone knows about. Actually regret cannot even describe how I feel right now for doing that. That's the last thing I have evr thought I could ever do. However, my anger was not due to the blog entry, I went there to reason with her to please not drag anyone else into the whole mess directly. Don't remove the blog entry but pls change the women's names or code their names. At least, that way, only those that know whole story will know their names and no one else on the web, but my own name will at least be known for the world to see. There was nothing you said that I was not expecting you to say, so there was no way you could have angered me with all your expose; it was fully expected and that's why I put the same about myself in my entry. You just went into details and "undetails." The only shock for me was that it took you quite sometime to reply. That was the only shock for me. However, don't drag any of these other people into a fight between you and me. It's not needed. And if you have to, code their names at least which is what I did when I dragged people into it and I removed their "coded names and story" immediately I found out they didn't even do what I claimed they did. I was the one you were trying to hurt and you would have PERFECTLY achieved that goal without putting names of people that had nothing to do with our issues. For God's sake, these people have been living their lives for years now without being involved in any of our dramas. That's all I asked for and other people asked you the same thing too but you just refused to listen. You had to embarass others too and not just fight me, but hurt others too. No one else that does not deserve to be hurt should be hurt. The only person that you needed to fuck up and say stuff about was me. O tan. Like someone said, by putting each of those people's names out there that exposed, you were hurting or draging not just them but their boyfriends, sisters, parents, relatives and friends. Yes, you don't care and they should just pls accept your apology. You have to do what you have to. Wow. You have to do what you have to, but you don't have to put others into it that openly, with their names for the whole world to see. It's just not fair on them at all. it just doesn't make sense. Even in anger, at least we can think a little bit and not put anyone else in between, with their real names for the whole world to see. And people that know them calling them from all over to ask them what their names were doing in such drama. I didn't ask that you remove the whole entry; just change the names of those that had nothing whatsoever to do with it and do not need to be dragged into it openly like that.

What I did did not make jack sense and is the worst thing I have ever done and words cannot even describe how unnecessary and appaling that was, but I just couldn't take anyone else being hurt but me. It's not needed! I can't even believe I did what I did but I did and I will always live to regret that till I die. I bet I can never do something that close again cos I have always heard about it but now being there, it's not a good feeling at all. And yes I also threatened you out of anger telling you not to put that blog back WITHOUT removing or coding those ladies' names. That, I regret too, but all was out of anger with the fact that you had other names apart from mine and God knows that. But like a friend said, why try to doing the worst because you are trying to save other people's names, so after calming down, I asked you to put the entry back the way you had it. That was the conclusion, but just know that it's me and you having drama and not them. You can always put up the entry. It's immeasurably entertaining for sure, but try to leave those people out. Please.

I have really disappointed myself and everyone that knows me by doing what I did yesterday, but now I know why people stoop low sometimes and I always call them names. We have both ridiculed ourselves for the world to see which is great, but there was no need to add others openly. We have both achieved our goals now. However, like I have always been argued with by people, any guy (or person) could be provoked to become who they are not. Anyone!!! Now I really know that is true. It still doesn't make it, right, for sure. So, guys please don't be like me o!

For those that had nothing to do with this whole palava but me and Lewa, I DEEPLY AND MOST SINCERELY APOLOGISE WITH EVERYTHING INSIDE ME. I REALLY DO cos it was bad enough that 2 of us were stupid enough doing what we were doing but there was no need for anyone else to be dragged into it. Many other people that do not need to be hurt have been hurt by these whole drama and I AM DEEPLY SORRY about that. I REALLY AM!!! I was the ONE AND ONLY ONE that needed to be fought; NO ONE ELSE. IT'S OVER O! O TI TAN! C'EST FINIS!!!

Designer vagina among others!
Anderson 360 had this story about how there is a new trend of cosmetic surgery among women these days. It has to do with their vagina. Women are getting various vagina-related cosmetic surgeries for various reasons. They are doing what they call vaginal rejuvenation, tightening their vagina in order to have better sex and some are actually revirginizing themselves by doing a procedure that recreates the hymen in the bid to allow their husbands experience being with a virgin again. Wow! Some of these procedures have tripled in the past 1 yr. Wow! O ga o! What has the society turned women to? It's sad to see how women in the society are under so much pressure. They are the ones that have to do the boob job, they are the ones that have to use botox, they are the ones that have to use ass implants, they are the ones that have to do tummy tuck, they are the ones that to join LA Weight Loss, Jimmy Craig, Bally Fitness. Damn! Now they have to vagina job. WTF? Come to think of it, what we guys put women through is just astounding and kind of unfair. But how can it change? I have no idea. But I know I can't say I am innocent myself. I have this picture in mind like every other man, I know too. I know many women claim they do things for themselves. Please! Be real with yourself. But for real, I think society has turned women into LIVING CADAVAS with all these procedures. It must be quite demoralizing and highly demeaning, as a woman. I wonder how women feel about this. I, definitely, wouldn't want to be in their shoes.

And let's not to talk about the prices of these procedures. They are dead expensive. No wonder cosmetic surgeons make the highest income in the medical field. I think I might be switching my field. :)

Best selling Valentine's card in almost every city!

This card was discovered to be the best selling card in nearly every city in the country. Inside, the card reads, "Each time I see you, hold you, think of you, here's what I do... I fall more deeply, madly, happily in love with you."
Interesting. Hmmph...I wonder why I haven't seen the card yet.... lol!

What a night - I am getting some baggy jeans, throwbacks and some hats!
The night started with me going to a Date auction organized by the African students at UNC Chapel Hill. A friend had pretty much pled with me to buy her for a certain price and we had agreed that I would. I got there, the auction started and to me it was being too quiet and sort of lifeless, so I decided to add some life to it like I always try to do. I decided to start bidding for some random chick that was put up for auction jokingly. Everytime someone raised a bid for her, I would do the same and at a point the auctioneer cracked a joke saying ok, desperate brother is bidding again. This continued until a point where I raised a bid and next thing no one else did. I looked around hoping someone else will cos the auctioneer was trying to close it, but guess what? No one did and that was how I ended up having to pay for that girl. That ended up hopes for my friend that I had promised to buy cos when it was her turn, I had used up my budgeted amount and I just couldn't afford to bid for her. At a point, she even had to yell my name out loud to bid for her now..! lol! Poor girl! She will be aight!

Ok. The worst part of the night. I decided to go to their after party cos I had promised them that I would be there. I really didn't want to go cos I got to tell you, I felt like an agbaya there, but I had promised so I decided I would show up and leave after a shortwhile. We get to the club and guess what? It was a gay/lesbian night at the club they used. I was like WTF is this. I had never seen such stuff face-to-face in my life. GUYS KISSING and GRINDING ON EACH OTHER ON THE DANCE FLOOR! I wanted to collapse. The worst of the worst part was this. I was walking by the bar to move to where many of the folks moved to cos they were uncomfortable with the gay folks there. And as I was going, a guy tapped me and I turned back to look at him and guess fucking what? He was like oops I'm sorry, I'm gay. I guess it was the way I looked at him. WHAT THE FUCK? A gay guy just fucking hit on me! I wanted to just kill myself. I mean that the hell. I had to go ask poeople there that what about me makes me look gay. One of them was like DUH! Look at your dressing. Ok. I normally dress up and neat and all that and my friends always joke around about my gay dressing and shit like that (cos I look too preppy and all), but this time I thot I was dressed gangster. lol! Had on a T-Shirt with big light leather blazers, not baggy jeans, not skinny jeans either and a pair of sneakers. One of my friends there was like, sorry, it still kind of looks gay. Mehn, I got to go get me some baggy baggy jeans, some throwbacks and hat straight up. lol! Maybe that will help cos that's against stereotypical gay dressing. lol! I can't afford to be hit on ever again. WTF? It wasn't funny at all!

As if that was not enough for the night, I left early with a friend of mine becos she was tired and wanted to go home. On our way home, I was driving and all of a sudden, I saw that I was on a 35 and I was way above that. So, I slowed down but as I was slowing down, a cop going the opposite direction turned on his lights and made a very quick U-turn. I thought I was watching a movie cos that U-turn was so abrupt. I couldn't help but yell out, "NOT AGAIN, I AM FINALLY FUCKED." over 3 tickets in 2 years, 1 pending and now I am about to get another one. E ma gba mi o! The guy came out, asked for my license as usual and asked if I was still living at the same address. I said no, I moved somewhere else. He asked me how long ago. I said 2 months (morrasucker, it's been over 3 mths, but I knew the consequences of saying that). He asked me if I knew I had only 60 days to change my address when I moved. I told him yes, but I was sorry. He now asked me if I knew why he stopped me and I said yes. Then he looked at my wrist and saw the bar band next thing, "Did you have anything to drink tonight cos you were going 54 on 35." GADDEM! ORI IYA MI O! Was I going that fast? I said I did but it was just on cup of Hennessy and Coke. He moved back for a second and came back kind of immediately. Sir, turn on your inner lights and you're going to have to come out of the car with your hands away from your pockets. WHAT? You're not necessarily under arrest or anything like that. I got down and noticed there was another cop car already packed and another cop was standing on the passenger side of my car flashing at the back of the car. I was just like not again. I just went to jail last year. I don't need this in my life anymore. Anywayz, I came out smiling with full confidence and he asked me to get on the road pavement and stuff. He then asked me to stand straight and breath in his hand 2ce. I did. He now asked me to open my eyez wide and follow a pen he was holding without moving my head. Is this a joke? I couldn't beleive this shit. I was experiencing COPS live and direct from Chapel Hill. DAMN! Omo, I did everything he asked perfectly with all smiles and he asked me to go back in the car after I had talked to him to please give me a break. I jsut couldn't believe it. E jus be like film trick! After about 5 mins or so, he came back and asked me what it will take for me to stay below speed limit. He said I had had 3 tickets in 2 yrs and prayer for judgement and stuff and that the next ticket I get will probably have my license revoked. However, cos he is in a good mood, he will let me go this time. I almost came out of the car to hug the guy. THANK GOD!!! WHEEEW!!!! That was just God. My life would have been over if I got another ticket mehn. No driving? Naw. That's all I do for fun. Can't live without it. Thank God!

What a night!!!!

If you have nothing to hide, shut the F#$% up?
Is it me or I am tired of hearing about how the NSA and the President betrayed the confidence of Americans by wiretapping people's phones randomly. Please! I don't know why they keep talking about it. I beg e! Senator Specter has even promised to set up a congressional investigation or hearing. And President Jimmy Carter even mentioned it at Coretta King's funeral. The democrats are using it as a political ball.

To be frank, I have no problem with anyone listening in on my conversation as long as the person is doing it to protect me; there is nothing for me to hide. If you have nothing to hide, why the hell do you have a problem with NSA wiretapping into your phone calls. Personally, I have always wondered to myself how government could possibly, if at all, halt a terrorist plot before it happens. To me, my conclusion has always been that one of the best ways is to tap into calls all over the country originating from certain countries or going to certain countries. Consequently, that's why I really do not have any problem with the government wiretapping for the sake of stopping possible terrorist plots before they come into fruition. I know, it is an invasion of privacy but I would rather have my privacy invaded than have my ass blow up to pieces. Don't get me wrong, I would have a problem if the government does wiretapping based on partisan motives. Like witretap the phone of their political rival and shit like that. Like they did to Dr Martin Luther King back in the days. That will be very appalling and too much of a low blow. Apart from that, what hte hell? Wiretapping is definitely perfect with me as long as it is not being abused by using it in a partisan way to monitor political opponents and such dishonorable motives.

So, if we are sure the government (NSA) is not abusing it (which I know might not necessarily be the case) and you have nothing to hide in your conversations, hush!

A great way to save money and earn that extra money!!!
Regardless of how much I have always known the value of saving money, I have never been good at saving money. As long as I have it, and there is need to spend, I spend it. Like a good number of other things that I preach but do not do, saving has always been a habit I preach to everyone but do not practise myself.

However, in recent months, by God's grace, I found a site that has FINALLY, helped me to get a handle on saving. You learn the hard way. It's called ING Direct. In less than 5 years, they have surpassed E-trade to become the largest online bank. I highly recommend it to everyone I know. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ONE, GET ONE!!! YOU CAN EARN A GREAT RETURN ON MONEY THAT YOU WANT ACCESS TO AND YOU DON'T WANT TO PUT AT RISK of stock market and other volatile money earnings media. You can set up auto-deductions from your checking account as you like and have them deposit it in your savings account. which will now earn as high as 4.75% (TILL APRIL 15TH and 3.80% after that) and they are FDIC-insured. That's higher than what most brick-and-mortar banks have (average rate of about 1.22% - pathetic). And it is as high as a lot of Certificate of Deposits (CDs). For example - Capital One CDs. For me, I don't mean to sound this extreme, but I think it will be kind of "unsmart" for anyone to have savings account with any other bank apart from this bank. :) The interest rate is unheard of in most banks' savings account. IF YOU HAVE MONEY IN ANY SAVINGS ACCOUNT, MOVE THE MONEY TO INGDIRECT. IT MAKES MUCH MORE SENSE!!! If you have your money in any other type of account in a bank apart from savings, that makes sense, but if it's savings account and you are earning some chump interest, MOVE IT TO INGDIRECT. IT JUST MAKES MORE FINANCIAL SENSE. Don't get me wrong, I am more of a believer in stocks, mutual funds and other money earnings tools, but savings account are very necessary and moreso with ING DIRECT with such a competitive interest rate.

And they have great mortgage rates too among other outstanding finanical products (Traditional IRAs, Roth IRAs. With great credit, you can get an excellent mortgage deal with them too. You should check it out. To top it up, a deposit of $25 will be made into your account and $10 into mine if you open an account using me as a referral. Actually, that one, I have to send you an email to make the referral happen. WE BOTH WIN! Lol! You can contact me if you need the referral link and if not, just go and open an account and let your money make some money for you cos that's not the reason I am canvassing for them. Having the extra $10 in my acct is all good, but the more important thing is for anyone to take advantage of the opportunity. The Savings Account APY (interest) says it all among other products that they have too. I know many of us as people are traditionalist and fear new things, but this is a good one! REMEMBER, THEY ARE FDIC-insured and they have GREAT REVIEWS. You can check their reviews online. They are good for the most part. You can start with a comfortable amount and see what happens. I can assure you that in no time, you will increase the amount you have in the account.

And don't worry about the security. It's great! In the past 3 months, that I have been with them, I have had no problem with them. And their customer service agents actually know what they are talking about.

So, do your research about the company and use that tax return money to make more money by depositing it in an ING Direct Savings account before April 15th, rather than a measly 1 to 2.something Wachovia OR Bank of America savings account. Really, having a savings account anywhere else without having one with ING Direct, I would say again, like an analyst said on TV, is kind of dumb! :) Here is the link:

ING Direct

Sincerely,
NyjaGuy

Don't mess with the Popo!!!
As I was reading Nneka's piece on 180 pounds ticket in 2 days, it reminded me of my recent (and actually current or future sef) ordeal with speeding tickets repercussion. I moved down to this area from MD over 3 yrs ago. I lived in MD for 5 yrs and throughout my stay there, I did not get one ticket. I was stopped by popos a couple of times, but none of them ever gave me a ticket. They just somehow always warned me cos they had better things to take care of. Someone was killing someone 2 blocks away.

I got here, North Carolina, and almost every guy I was around had ticket issues. Many of them had gotten too many tickets and their insurance had risen up. Those that had to take driver ed classes in order tohave some of the tickets expunged were taking it. Those that had no choice but to pay the steep insurance were doing so. Many of the guys just had one issue or the other with tickets. Seeing all these, I would boast about how I had never had a ticket bla bla bla. And my room mate then would laugh at me saying we shall see and I would say the same thing back that whatever. I drove the way I drove at MD, forgetting that the cops here had nothing to do but give tickets - no crime.

Anyway, on this golden day (ka ma so mi) of May 2003, I picked someone I was talking to back then (good friend) and on our way to MD, I launched my first ticket at the speed 80 on a 65 near Oxford, NC. I was actually going on 100 but the bastard clocked me at 80. And I begged the guy that see now, my record shows that I haven't gotten a ticket can you let me go this time. He acted as if he actually had some empathy, went to his car and came back with the usual, "Sir, I am sorry but I am going to have to give you a ticket, Here it is." I hate when they say that fucking Sir/Maam crap. hose people will be handcuffing you and they be saying sir sir. WTF? Why say Sir or Maam when you are at the same time making my life miserable? I was so pissed. My friend that I picked up must have apologised to me about 20X. There was no need to. It wasn't her fault. I guess she felt she jinxed me or something cos I had boasted to her about how I had never had a ticket and all that BS.

Anywayz, after the first one, the 2nd came and the 3rd and the 4th. These NC cops were not not playing at all. I stopped speeding after the first one, but they just always got me somehow when I forgot myself for a minute or so, but I got better at learning how to drive slow. I had a break for about a yr or so and finally got another some few months ago which I still have pending. DAMMIT! I thought I had it under control finally. DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!

Omo, the worst part is, recently, I got my insurance renewal contract from GEICO and as I finally opened it after some days, I literally collapsed. I SWEAR, literally. I have always seen those scenes in the movies but it had never happenned to me. As I read my new premium for the next 6 months starting Feb 14th, I was in standing position initially. I went from standing to leaning my bed with one hand and went down on the floor slooooooooowwwwwly. I sat down on the floor flat with the paper in my hand and my hands on my head. It was shocking! My insurance had gone from $673 TO ALMOST $1200 (that is ALMOST 100% increase). BECAUSE OF MY TICKETS FINALLY REFLECTING ON MY INSURANCE POINTS!!!! DAMMMMIT! I swear if you had seen me you would have thought I was either acting a movie or I had heart attack. Some days before that day, I just set up my budget and took a depp dive of analysis of my finances. I was just like WTF? Just when I thought I was getting a good handle on things, I am about to come crashing down with all these extra bills. But it's all good. That will not happen, but I got say, I was dead distraught! WHAT? And I remember that everytime we had discussions on how tickets affected your insurance, I would be like, pls I beg e, it doesn't affect it that much. I thought oh, I haven't seen any major increase in my insurance and I've had all these tickets. Pls! Whatever! I didn't know my bastard insurance company was just waiting for the right time to sting me like a bee. And they sure did. Almost 100% insurance premium increase!

No one needs to tell me to be a slow driver. That's why I have been enjoying my friend's car that I have been driving for the past few days. It cannot go above 60 miles (I know. That's a different story entirely). LOL! My car? That's something else. It will get anyone tickets.

PEOPLE, DON'T SPEED O! THOSE TICKETS WILL KILL YOU LATER. DAMN! IT'S NO JOKE FOR REAL, THOUGH I HAD TO LAUGH AT MY REACTION LATER. :) NO MORE TICKETS FOR ME FOR SURE! But meanwhile, ko ni da fun awon popo yen at all! lol!
